UBB Clean-up at Seal Beach, CA

UBB Clean-up at Seal Beach, CA

July 22, 2010

Come out on Monday, October 4th from 2-4pm for a United By Blue Clean-up of Seal Beach.  Although the area is fairly residential, the gorgeous beaches and weather brings in over 2million visitors every year.  Although this helps the local economy, it can usually have a negative effect on our oceans because – more people=more trash.  Much of the trash will be properly disposed of, but the piece that miss the can or simply blow away can end up in the Pacific, making its way out to the Gyre.

Kim Masoner, founder of Save our Beach, will be the UBB’s Clean Leader for this event.  We are honored to have such a dedicated and experienced volunteer head our first clean-up on the West Coast.  If you can not make it to this event be sure to check out Save our Beach for their monthly and weekly clean-ups in the area.

Green Genius trash bags and gloves will be provided.  We do ask that volunteers bring their own reusable water bottles, gardening/work gloves, and a trash grabber if possible(not required).
